Wedding Transportation in Kingston and Prince Edward County: A Planning Guide

Book your wedding transportation once your date and venue are set. For a summer Saturday, that means 6 to 12 months ahead. In Kingston and Prince Edward County, most couples need two things: a car for themselves and the wedding party, and a plan to get guests between the ceremony, the reception and their hotels.

This guide covers what to book, how many vehicles you need, venue-by-venue tips and a sample timeline you can copy. Limitless Limo drives a black Jeep Wagoneer that seats up to 7, with pickups across Kingston, Napanee, Belleville and the County.

What wedding transportation do you actually need?

Most weddings need transportation for three groups: the couple, the wedding party, and guests who shouldn't drive after the reception. The couple and the wedding party usually ride in a limo or luxury SUV. Large guest groups usually need a coach or shuttle bus. Parents and grandparents are often the group couples forget.

Who needs a ride on the wedding day
WhoWhat they needUsual solution
The coupleGetting-ready location to the ceremony, photo stops, then the receptionA limo or luxury SUV booked for a block of hours
Wedding partyRides with the couple, or just ahead of themThe same vehicle in a second trip, or a second vehicle
Parents and grandparentsA comfortable ride, often from a hotelA short private trip before the ceremony
GuestsHotel to venue and back, especially after the receptionA coach or shuttle bus for large groups

Our Wagoneer suits the couple, the wedding party and family VIPs. It isn't a 40-seat shuttle, so for a large guest list we'll tell you honestly when a coach is the better buy. You can look inside the Wagoneer on our homepage.

How far in advance should you book wedding transportation?

Book as soon as your venue and date are confirmed. For a Saturday between June and October, 6 to 12 months ahead is a safe window, because the most popular dates go first. Friday, Sunday and off-season weddings usually have more room, but booking early still locks in the vehicle you want.

Confirm the final timeline with your driver about two weeks out. By then you'll know your photo stops, your hair and makeup finish time and any changes to the venue schedule.

How many wedding vehicles do you need?

Divide the number of people riding at the same time by the seats in the vehicle, then round up. The Wagoneer seats up to 7, so a couple with five attendants fits in one trip. A couple with eight attendants needs two trips or two vehicles. Guests are counted separately, because they rarely ride in the wedding car.

Kingston wedding venues and how to get there

Kingston's wedding venues are close together, so most transfers take 15 minutes or less. The bigger questions are parking, drop-off points and timing. Fort Henry sits on a hill above the city, the waterfront hotels have busy entrances on summer weekends, and City Hall's Memorial Hall suits small ceremonies only.

Prince Edward County and Napanee wedding venues

County venues are spread out across rural roads, many of them unlit after dark. That makes transportation more important here than in Kingston. Guests often stay in Picton, Wellington or Bloomfield and need a ride after the reception. Allow more drive time between venues and plan the trip home before the day.

A sample wedding day transportation timeline

Copy this timeline and change the times to fit your day. It assumes a 3 p.m. ceremony, a separate reception venue and one vehicle for the couple and wedding party.

Sample timeline, 3 p.m. ceremony
TimeWhat happens
1:45 p.m.Driver arrives at the getting-ready location
2:00 p.m.Wedding party leaves for the ceremony
2:30 p.m.Couple leaves for the ceremony (second trip if needed)
3:00 p.m.Ceremony
3:45 p.m.Couple and wedding party leave for photos
5:15 p.m.Leave photos for the reception
5:45 p.m.Grand entrance at the reception
Late eveningOptional ride for the couple or family back to the hotel

How long should you allow between the ceremony and the reception?

Allow the drive time between venues, plus your photo session, plus 15 to 20 minutes of buffer. In Kingston, most drives between venues are short. In the County, a drive from Hillier to Waupoos takes far longer than a hop across downtown Kingston. Ask your driver to time the route before the day.

Photos almost always run long. A buffer protects your grand entrance and keeps the kitchen on schedule.

Tips for a smooth wedding day

  • Name one point of contact. A planner or a trusted friend, not the couple, should hold the driver's number on the day.
  • Send exact addresses. Rural County venues sometimes show up wrong in map apps. Add the venue's own directions.
  • Plan for rain. Agree on a covered drop-off point with each venue.
  • Use the car in photos. A black Wagoneer makes a clean backdrop, so add five minutes for car photos.
  • Book the extras. Rehearsal dinner rides and airport runs for out-of-town guests are easy to add. See our Kingston to Pearson airport guide for timing.

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should we book wedding transportation?

Book as soon as your date and venue are confirmed. For a Saturday between June and October, aim for 6 to 12 months ahead, because peak dates go first. Off-season and weekday weddings usually have more flexibility.

How many people fit in the Wagoneer?

Up to 7 riders. That covers the couple plus a small wedding party, or parents and grandparents in one trip. For a larger wedding party we plan two trips, or you can pair our car with a coach for guests.

Can you cover the ceremony, photos and the reception in one booking?

Yes. Most couples book a block of hours that runs from the getting-ready location to the ceremony, then the photo stops, then the reception. Send us your venues and times and we'll plan the route.

Do you drive to wedding venues in Prince Edward County and Napanee?

Yes. We cover Kingston, Napanee, Belleville and the whole County, including winery and farm venues on rural roads. Tell us the venue name and we'll check the route and parking ahead of the day.

Can you take guests from their hotels to the venue?

Yes, for small groups of up to 7 per trip. Many couples use us for parents, grandparents and the wedding party, and book a larger coach for the rest of the guests.

Do you do airport pickups for out-of-town wedding guests?

Yes. We pick up guests at Toronto Pearson, Ottawa and Montreal airports and bring them to Kingston or the County. Our Kingston to Pearson guide covers timing and costs.

How much does wedding transportation cost?

Rates depend on the number of hours, the venues and the date. Send your wedding date, venues and rough timeline through the booking form and we'll reply with a quote.
